![]() ![]() In frustration, I deleted and reinstalled PMS and then rebooted the Shield and that appeared to make matters worst after launching Plex app and following the walk through to set up PMS for the "first time" and like others here, PMS was stuck on the set-up screen. Then noticed later in storage settings, it recognized that a drive was mounted but no clear indication under "My Network Storage" that the NAS was "connected". Tried to add the NAS username / pw credentials again and that appeared stuck. PMS is mounted to a Synology NAS, and I first discovered that the share drives were not loading after the update, as the Plex app (client) on the Shield showed empty libraries. Yup, joining the chorus here on a broken PMS following the 9.0.0 update. Now I lost my watch history and will have to rebuild and reorganize a huge media library, just because some bad developer forgot to set a variable and the test team was sleeping. And it turned out that simply enabling Plex app permission to file access really did the trick. I googled for help and I thanks God I found this thread. But factory reset is not a real factory reset, as all apps and data came back installed and even 9.0 was reinstalled.Īnd I came across this very same issue, in which Plex Media Server stuck on setup screen. I've been struggling against it for hours and in an act of despair I factory reset Shield. I purchased NVIDIA Shield expecting to have a superior experience in movie watching but it turns out my old cheap Chinese box running Kodi was much more reliable and stable than this.Īfter upgrading to Experience 9.0 all my media stopped playing in every single platform. I spend more time fixing it than watching my media. It is very creative in finding new ways to malfunction. BTW, there is not a single week that I don't have a bad surprise with Plex. ![]()
